Directions
Paint the Jars: Start by giving your mason jars a rustic look. To do this, paint them with chalk paint using a foam brush. You can choose any color that complements your wedding theme. Once the paint is dry, lightly sand the jars for a distressed finish. Don't forget to add a bit of twine or ribbon to the jars for that extra rustic touch.
Stem Your Flowers (If using Wood Flowers): Stem your wood flowers using 18 gauge floral wire and a dab of hot glue. You can do this step as you go or stem them all at once.
Prepare the Base: Create a lush bed for your flowers using pampas grass and dried foliage, or opt for the eco-friendly and low-maintenance route with faux or preserved eucalyptus. This step sets the stage for your floral arrangement. Trim the foliage as needed. You can always trim more foliage after placing flowers so don’t over trim.
Design Your Arrangement: Now comes the fun part - arranging your choice of silk, wood, or fresh flowers. Mix and match colors, shapes, and sizes to create a stunning visual display. Avoid clustering flowers of the same color in rows. A diverse arrangement adds depth and visual interest to your tables. Trim the flower stems as needed.
Add Final Touches (Optional): To add a personal touch, consider wrapping a ribbon or twine around the vase or adding other decorative accents that match your wedding theme such as pearl sprays or feathers.
Repeat: Repeat these steps for each vase. Be consistent in your design but feel free to make each one slightly unique for added charm.
Create Your Tablescape: For Round Tables You might want to think about arranging one or two vases of varying heights in a clustered display.
For Rectangular Tables Consider creating multiple sizes down the table or evenly placing them down the table. Incorporate candles or other items to add interest to your tablescape.
Table Runners are the perfect addition to your bud vase arrangement!
Tips & Tricks
Tips and Tricks:
- To achieve a cohesive look, stick to your wedding color palette and theme. If you're going for a vintage vibe, choose soft pastels and lace accents. For a bohemian feel, consider earthy tones and wildflowers.
- For an extra personal touch, incorporate sentimental flowers. Did your grandmother love roses? Include them in your arrangement to honor her memory.
