Directions
Choose Your Lanterns: Select wood or metal lanterns that match your wedding's aesthetic. You can opt for rustic wood lanterns or sleek metal ones; the choice is yours. Make sure your lanterns are large enough to accommodate a candle and a floral arrangement.
Prepare the Candle Ring: Start by placing a candle ring of greenery at the base of your lantern to ensure its the proper size. These candle rings come in various sizes, so choose one that fits your lantern and table setting perfectly. You can work with the ring outside of the lantern but make sure you test it in the lantern periodically as you add flowers.
Stem Your Flowers (If using Wood Flowers): Stem your wood flowers using 24-26 gauge floral wire and a dab of hot glue.
Add Flowers to the Candle Ring: Now comes the creative part. Begin adding your chosen flowers to the candle ring. Use floral wire to secure the flower stems onto the greenery ring. As you do this, remember to disperse the flowers evenly and avoid creating rows or lines of a single color. This variation ensures a visually striking and balanced arrangement.
Illuminate with Candles: In the center of the lantern, place a battery-operated candle. The soft, warm glow from the candle will highlight the beauty of your floral arrangement, creating a romantic ambiance.
Create Your Tablescape: Add elements such as a mirror or wood slice under your lantern. Accent the table with smaller elements such as votives, seashells or driftwood.
